Making the difference for young people

We are proud to support a number of non-profit organisations worldwide. The ongoing focus of our work with these organisations is ‘developing the leaders of the future’ – giving young people the skills, confidence and opportunities they need to fulfil their ambitions and create a brighter tomorrow. This complex task is impacted by multiple social, economic and individual factors, each of which must be addressed. Consequently, PA’s support extends across a number of areas – from tackling inequality in education and providing teacher training, through to mentoring disadvantaged students and sponsoring the world’s foremost junior sailing event.

Academic Power

Academic Power

Giving foreign-born graduates the skills to succeed

PA is collaborating with the Swedish education unit Academic Power, which helps non-native graduates break into the labour market. We support the charity by inviting course participants for a one-hour interview with a senior PA consultant at our offices in Stockholm. The experience is designed to mirror a 'real life' interview as closely as possible, providing each participant with the opportunity to practise their interview skills and get detailed feedback on how to sharpen their CV. Importantly, this work has been shown to benefit society as well as the individual – by helping to improve the integration of immigrants across Sweden.

Coaching young people in essential job interview techniques

Ark is an international organisation whose purpose is to transform children's lives through education. Its network of 31 high-performing schools in the UK, as well international ventures, are working to ensure that thousands of children have access to high-quality education – regardless of their background. PA is bringing students from Ark’s sixth form schools into our Head Office for the day and offering a range of activities designed to help them understand more about getting a job, how to get through job assessment centres and interviews, and build their confidence ahead of leaving full time school education. PA has also worked closely with Ark to further develop the capability of its outstanding team – so they can continue to build on their life-changing work with young people.

Care Denmark

CARE Denmark

Improving opportunities for young people in Africa and Asia

CARE Denmark has been focused on developing the skills of young people living in rural areas of Africa and Asia; improving their livelihoods, as well as the recognition of and respect for their rights. Through our work with the charity’s leaders, PA has helped CARE to deploy its resources more effectively – transforming the lives of individuals living in some of the world’s most remote and challenging environments.

Change for Kids

Providing a better education for children in New York

Change for Kids (CFK) believes every student deserves a quality education, and every school needs the proper resources to deliver it. The charity provides schools in New York City with literacy, arts, health, and other essential resources that set students on the path to a brighter future. PA has supported CFK by giving them the insight to work more effectively with their partner schools – so they can make an even bigger difference for the city’s disadvantaged children.

Raspberry pi

The PA Raspberry Pi Competition

Inspiring the next generation of engineers and computer programmers

The UK has seen a significant fall in the number of young people applying to study core science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects. As a technology and innovation firm, we are passionate about unlocking growth in these areas by supporting the next generation of skilled coders, developers and engineers. It was with this ambition that we launched the PA Raspberry Pi competition, which challenges teams of schoolchildren across the UK to use the low-cost credit-card-size computer to make the world a better place.

The PA Teach First IMPACT Partnership

Giving every child an education they can be proud of

Across the UK, the most advantaged 20% of young people are seven times more likely to attend the most selective universities than the 40% most disadvantaged. Teach First works to narrow this unacceptable gap so how much a child achieves doesn't depend on how much their parents earn.

PA is proud to support Teach First in delivering a fairer future. Through the IMPACT partnership, our people engage directly with the drivers and beneficiaries of Teach First's work; providing guidance to trainee teachers through a nationwide coaching programme, supporting the charity's innovation unit, and working to raise pupils' aspirations through Teach First's Guest Teacher Programme and Career Insight Days.

Rhema Partnership

The Rhema Partnership

Supporting disadvantaged communities in India

At the Rhema Garden, a community in South India, the Rhema Partnership supports a hostel for disadvantaged children, a school for people with special needs, a medical centre, a college and a ministry. They focus on training local people to serve the community and ensure each of their facilities is designed, set up and run entirely by community residents. A team from PA has worked with the charity to help them develop a new logo, a video about their work and a marketing and communications strategy. By keeping operating costs low, our contribution is helping ensure that 95% of the Rhema Partnership's donations continue to go directly to those in need.

RS Feva

RS Feva UK and World Championships for 2015

Developing tomorrow’s Olympic sailors

PA is proud to sponsor the RS Feva UK and World Championships 2015. The RS Feva leads the world’s development of junior double handed sailing; the event has over 200 boats and is considered a useful trainer for the high performance boats of Olympic sailing. Our sponsorship of the RS Feva UK and World Championships recognises the importance of sport and competition in the development of our leaders of the future – and we wish all entrants good luck in their preparation.
