The Identity and Passport Service’s (IPS) existing passport contract expired in October 2010. IPS faced the difficult task of creating a viable competition for the new contract. To supply a new system capable of producing an advanced passport with enhanced security and quality. Then, following supplier selection, IPS needed to manage the implementation and redevelopment of their passport production systems and processes, all within 15 months at a time of significant budgetary constraints. To overcome these challenges, IPS commissioned a multidisciplinary team of PA experts with skills ranging from procurement to delivery management, to create an integrated solution.
