The NHS reforms and required efficiency savings are of an unprecedented scale. Within the NHS pay accounts for approximately 60-70% of budgets and will therefore come under intense scrutiny. Transforming Healthcare Education
PA works with healthcare organisations to transform their education systems, building new ways of commissioning and managing the provision of education. PA has designed and implemented a new system for the commissioning and provision of medical education and has supported medical recruitment from end-to-end. PA is currently engaged in supporting several organisations in developing their Local Education Training Board Operating Models to ensure safe transition and a system that brings patient care, service need and education closer together.
Supporting leadership development
PA supports both formal and informal leadership development interventions, we work collectively with executive teams as well as supporting individuals to maximise both their individual potential as well as that of their workforce. Recently we have designed and delivered leadership and board development programmes with several large Trusts.
Conducting structured reviews and developing healthcare workforce high impact reports
PA has supported the development of a number of high profile policy reports focused on the future of the healthcare workforce. Our structured approach to the research process and to the development of clear, compelling reports has been helped our clients to make an impact among healthcare professionals, managers and the media. We have worked with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to deliver the report: A High quality Women’s Healthcare and with Medical Education England to deliver the report: Time for Training: A Review of the impact of the European Working Time Directive on the quality of training and the General Medical Council to produce the report: State of Medical Education and Practice.
Supporting workforce transition programmes
PA has been instrumental in supporting large scale workforce transition programmes such as during a reconfiguration or management restructuring. Together with a partner organisation we have worked on redeployment and outplacement, supporting individuals affected to make the most of their skills and the career opportunities available to them. We have also designed organisations and programmes and have managed staff through the complex process of more traditional transition programmes.
