Supporting economic development in Scotland

The Economic Development Association(Scotland) (EDAS) has 3000 members from private and public sector organisations across Scotland. It aims to improve the effectiveness of economic development activity by helping to increase the knowledge, skills and networks of all those involved.

As part of this work, PA Consulting Group recently hosted the first of EDAS’  ‘Scotland’s Economy Sessions.’ The meeting focused on the key themes of inclusive growth, innovation, internationalisation and investment, and heard speeches from Gary Gillespie, Scotland’s Chief Economic Adviser and Colm Reilly, PA economic development expert.  In his presentation, Colm outlined how a focus on international developments can support the Scottish Economic Strategy. In particular, he set out how ideas will be a key source of future competitive advantage for individuals, organisations and countries.
