Big data increase in companies

In an article in Danish paper Berlingske Tidende, PA’s Rolf Greisen, IT and data expert, discusses the impact of big data in companies. According to Rolf, many companies lack an overview of the quality of their data, which makes it difficult to carry out valuable data analysis.

Rolf says: “The use of complex IT systems is increasing. We see more and more complex systems generating data. Most companies have a myriad of tools. These tools each register information about products, customers and suppliers, meaning information is registered several times and not coordinated. If you want valuable analysis based on data it is essential to get an overview of the quality of the data as part of that task. This is not necessarily done by investing in more IT tools but through formalising the administration and ownership of data.”
