Energy Investors Funds – using expert analysis to support a US landfill gas investment

PA was engaged by EIF to perform the valuation of a portfolio of landfill gas generating assets in the US (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida, and California). Leveraging PA's market insight, the team undertook an analysis to forecast the energy, capacity, and renewable energy credit markets in each region. The PA team worked with the consortium of lenders to provide them scenario analyses around renewable energy tax incentives, greenhouse gas legislation, and commodity prices. PA also performed due diligence on the bank financing model and provided a forecast of short-run marginal costs to support contract revenues. PA submitted a market expert report to the client outlining the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland (PJM), Midwest ISO, Florida, and California power markets.

The explanation of risk factors and underlying expert analysis supported a sound investment decision and led to the successful financing of the landfill gas portfolio.
