This involved supporting the development of clinical proposals by working closely with the clinical teams, development and analysis of the options for change and management of the programme. The work included proposals to consolidate maternity and accident and emergency services onto fewer sites.
These proposals were referred to the Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansley, who asked an external body, the Independent Reconfiguration Panel (IRP) to undertake a detailed review of the proposals.
This review endorsed the proposals and praised the level of collective commitment and convergence of clinical opinion. Following receipt of the IRP report, the Secretary of State announced his support for the proposals.
This is a major achievement for north east London health commissioners and PA are proud to have supported them in achieving this goal, which will help them deliver better quality health services in the capital.
