Beyerdynamic

We worked with the Beyerdynamic team to create a new dynamic broadcasting microphone and true condenser microphone with the aim of delivering on the requirements of this new market. Our goal was to embrace the core Beyerdynamic ethos, and what makes them special, while appealing directly to these new users with the microphone design.

Although aimed at a new audience, the PRO X microphones apply the same philosophy as all other Beyerdynamic microphones; They record clear, natural sounds that optimally model speech, vocals and instruments. It’s a clear, full-bodied and rich sound that enhances and preserves performers’ creations. The physicality of the microphones needed to respect the performance of the technology while being accessible to new creators. We worked with Beyerdynamic to translate the history, promise and confidence of the brand into the hardware. This is a set of microphones that will stand the test of time and perform at an unparalleled level in audio capture.

We spoke to a wide range of creators who flagged durability as a key requirement for their ideal microphone design; the ability to travel with it, throw it in a bag, carry it and gig with it or record a podcast on the fly. The design has a modern and comfortable feel while the ‘Made in Germany’ slogan reinforces the brand’s heritage of quality and precise craftmanship. The microphones use high quality aluminium housing in combination with robust steel mesh. Built to last a lifetime, they are comfortable in any environment, whether professional or home.

The new PRO X modernises an iconic brand for a new and growing market, making professional sound quality accessible to creators of every stripe. Beyerdynamic’s transition from studio and live performance into the home has the ability to significantly grow their brand and appeal to the next generation of creators.
