Founded in Ålesund Norway in 1932, Stokke® began as a manufacturer of high-quality furniture. The first product for children was launched in 1972 – the iconic Tripp Trapp® chair, which has sold more than 11 million worldwide and remains a core product in the Stokke® collection.
Stokke® is passionate about designing high-quality, functional high chairs. We partnered with their team to ask the real experts, parents, what they really want to make mealtimes easier. Visiting their homes, we observed mealtime and discussed their high chair purchase journey, brand perceptions, and overall product experiences – carefully identifying pain points and unmet needs of both the parent and child. The result was a series of high-level insights that informed our design strategy and inspired our design team.
After rounds of sketches, prototyping and testing with babies, the result is the Stokke® Clikk™ – an easy to assemble, easy to clean, all-in-one high chair that can be used from six-36 months and stays true to Stokke’s design heritage. The Clikk™ comes in four colours to give even the most discerning parent options.

We spent time with parents, taking note of their personal style and how furniture fits into their homes. Observing high-chair behaviors of children during feeding time, looking for cues like gestures, range of motion, and reachability. We also identified small design details that have a big impact on the user experience, ‘nooks and crannies’ that are hard to clean for parents.”
