Women in Tech
Women hold only 25 percent of tech jobs. And this is steadily getting worse, despite the number of technology jobs increasing rapidly over the years. Without diverse representation, technology solutions risk excluding women, presenting a huge problem for business and society alike. We know diversity produces the best results.
The PA Women in Tech (WiT) initiative drives awareness of this issue and turns thinking into action. We're a passionate team from across the firm who use our experience to ensure the future of technology is more diverse, inclusive and benefits everyone.
We do this by providing learning and development opportunities like our coding courses, building supportive communities of engaged women, industry partners and allies, and ensuring our recruitment activities promote equal opportunities and remove barriers to entry for women.

Four core pillars at the heart of our strategy
Here at Women in Tech, we are always busy organising the next event, guided by four pillars:
- Learning and development: We run coding courses in both Web Development and Python Programming, and additional sessions/events on soft and hard skills.
- Community: We provide opportunities for thought-leadership, event speaking, and mentorship to our members.
- Recruitment and retention: We run our famous mentorship scheme and attend career fairs across the UK. If you see us, come and say hi!
- Partnerships: We partner with external companies to support each other in diversifying the technology industry.
We’re proud to have won the “Best Employer Network” award in the Women in Tech Employer Awards 2022!
Supporting women in technology careers
The Career Starters (Students and Graduates)
We hold recruitment events and talks at university open days and STEM career fairs to encourage women embarking on a career in tech. Our famous Introduction to Web Development, Python and Data Science virtual coding courses provide career starters with the confidence they need to continue their coding career. The Accelerators (Early to Mid Level Careers)
Within PA we support everyone, from early to mid-level ranks, through informal meet ups which give an opportunity to share insight, experiences and discuss career challenges with one another. Our formal events are open to everyone across the world, and are often run with Big Tech partners.
Should you wish to join PA, we’ll support you through our WiT-tailored Mentoring Scheme and we’ll provide you with thought-leadership and speaking opportunities. Learn more about our Digital Careers at PA.
The Career Changers (Role Changers)
For individuals thinking about a career change into technology, we run a “Career Changers Scheme into PA’’ to encourage, upskill and support their career change.
Our partnership with Code First Girls (CFG) also allows us to sponsor places on their famous CFG degree which upskills women in software engineering and data science before they embark on a successful career at PA. Find out more.
The Ally (Men & support)
For our allies and champions, who continue to support women in technology, we offer speaking opportunities at our events and provide sensibilisation events and training, together with tailored support on topics such as ‘how women can support men too’.
