Sustainability in medtech: From overhead to opportunity
Sustainability is essential to our future and a central part of corporate philosophy. Despite this, sustainability has been slow to gain traction in the healthcare industry. Today, the balance is tipping. Net zero procurement initiatives, developments in sustainable materials, waste regulations, and stakeholder expectations are driving the change.
A successful sustainability strategy demands a deep understanding of the healthcare environment, clinical workflows, and regulated medical product development, alongside expertise in materials science, manufacturing, and supply chain management. But the journey towards meeting sustainability goals can feel costly and challenging, demanding significant change across the product lifecycle – often without clear return.
