Job description

This is a hands on, in-office role based in our Melbourn office, due to the systems being supported, there will be occasional weekend working and on-call duties, so flexibility is required

Candidates must possess UK single-nationality and have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years in order to obtain the security clearance level needed for this role. Candidates without this cannot be considered.  

About the Group Systems team

The Group Systems Team is comprised of a variety of areas that support the wider firm. Consisting of seven key pillars specialising in Business Engagement and Governance, Strategy and Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Data and Analytics, Enterprise Solutions, Cyber Security and Technology and Operations.  

Our Service teams sit within the Technology and Operations pillar, delivering end to end support for our users and includes the Global Service Desk, 2nd line, Application Support teams, Operations, Infrastructure and Digital Workspace teams.

About the Infrastructure team

The Infrastructure Team are a point of escalation for our UK users, based in the Cambridge office. The team combine excellent problem-solving skills with high quality customer service to resolve user issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. Using established processes as well as independent investigation to identify, resolve and document fixes in case of reoccurrence.

This is an interesting and varied role where you will be responsible for segregated, technically rich environments that will allow you to develop your skills in areas such as technical management, automation and operations, whilst ensuring that all environments are available, reliable, secure and able to meet the demands placed upon on them.


Qualifications

Required Qualities

  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Azure, Office 365, Virtual hosting including VMware Horizon and Hyper-V, Exchange and SaaS Backup Platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure to identify and fix IT security vulnerabilities as well as implementing new IT technologies and services.
  • Good knowledge of group policy and firewall management.
  • Strong effective communication skills at all organisational levels and the ability to write clear documentation.
  • Comfortable working independently or in a team, using own initiative.
  • Organisational skills to plan and maintain the infrastructure ensuring it remains current and available.
