PA transport expert Malin Jakobsson recently joined the railway podcast series “Järnvägspodden” to talk about the work that is being facilitated by the Swedish Transport Administration to harmonise the allocation of capacity in the European railway market.
In this episode of Järnvägspodden, our colleague Malin Jakobsson talks about how TTR (Timetable Redesign for Smart Capacity Management) in line with the approach in the rest of Europe will be used to plan and allocate track capacity. All this is designed to meet the railway market's need for stability for passenger traffic, but also accommodate the need for freight traffic, in order to create greater flexibility in ticket sales.
In addition, the podcast host, Gustaf Engstrand, Head of policy at Tågföretagen provided more detail on the EU's regulation of railway capacity.
