PA Consulting establishes The PA Foundation to develop and inspire the leaders of tomorrow
PA Consulting (PA), the consultancy that’s bringing ingenuity to life, announces the formation of The PA Foundation to amplify the positive impact it has on society and the communities in which it works.
The PA Foundation will support PA’s volunteering efforts by providing grants to charities and non-profit organisations. PA people will volunteer their skills and experience, working alongside the Foundation, to make a real difference. They will work together to deliver on a shared mission to develop and inspire people, particularly those facing disadvantage, to be the innovators and leaders of tomorrow – applying their ingenuity to solve the world's biggest challenges.
PA will provide The PA Foundation with ongoing financial support and partnership opportunities to combine grant-based donations to charities and non-profit organisations with the skills and experience of its employees, amplifying its social impact for the public good.
Together, they will expand access to quality education, skills and careers – particularly in STEM related fields, and work to address the underlying barriers that are holding people from disadvantaged backgrounds back.
PA, with support from its people and benefactors, has committed over £10 million to The PA Foundation, to be dispersed across projects run by its global communities over the next five years.
In its first year, The PA Foundation intends to:
- Disburse £1 million of funding across PA’s global communities
- Partner with PA to deliver 10,000 hours of skills-based volunteering to its charity and non-profit organisation partners and beneficiaries
- Reach over 1,000 people from disadvantaged backgrounds to improve their skills and future career prospects.
The PA Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of independent Trustees and current PA employees.
Anita Chandraker has been appointed Independent Chair. She is a former PA Partner and Board Director, and during her 30-year career at PA she advised Board level clients on strategic technology and digital initiatives. She was founding sponsor of PA’s Raspberry Pi competition, which challenges school children across the UK and Netherlands to develop innovative technology solutions using a Raspberry Pi Computer, and is also a Trustee of the Fairtrade Foundation.
Martin Tillisch, Fintech Advisory Board member and former PA Partner is also an independent Trustee. Additional independent Trustees will be appointed in the coming weeks.
Joining Anita and Martin as Trustees are PA’s Chief Marketing Officer Jo Scarlett, Group Company Secretary Kully Janjuah, and Jason Robson, a Partner in PA’s Defence, Security and Public Services practice. Kully and Jason have been with PA for over two decades.
Ken Toombs, CEO of PA Consulting, said: “Our purpose, bringing ingenuity to life, guides our every move: the work with do with our clients, how we treat our people, and how we give back to the communities in which we operate. I’m incredibly proud of our people’s energy and desire to drive positive and lasting change across our communities.
The PA Foundation will help to amplify these efforts, and our partnership signals our long term-commitment to supporting disadvantaged groups and developing and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow.”
Anita Chandraker, Chair of The PA Foundation, added: “It is a privilege to work alongside PA to deliver on our shared goal of supporting disadvantaged groups to develop their skills and achieve their potential. We are grateful for PA’s support, which will enable The PA Foundation to build on the hugely valuable work PA is doing across its communities, and to work alongside its people as they apply their deep technical skills and industry experience to develop and inspire the next generation to embark on fulfilling careers.”
