- Making the Leap (UK)
- Raspberry Pi Foundation (UK and US)
- The Economist Educational Foundation (Global)
- UAF (Netherlands)
- Upwardly Global (US)
- Veterans Aid (UK)
The PA Foundation aims to develop and inspire people, principally those facing disadvantage, to be the innovators and leaders of tomorrow, applying their ingenuity to solve the world's biggest challenges. The Foundation will be making £1 million of grant funding in 2022.
The Foundation’s financial support, coupled with volunteer hours by PA people lending their skills and experience, will directly impact over 2,400 people from disadvantaged groups.
PA people will, for example, establish one of the first coding academies in a UK women’s prison with Catch22. While in the US they’ll work with Upwardly Global to support over 500 under-employed immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers to gain meaningful employment through coaching, job readiness, skills development and access to employers.
Ken Toombs, CEO, PA Consulting said: “There has never been a more important time to support people from disadvantaged backgrounds who risk falling even further behind in the current economic climate. I’m proud of PA’s strong commitment to our communities. Our partnership with The PA Foundation and its charity partners opens further opportunities to give back and make a meaningful difference.”
Jack McMahon, Head of Communities, PA Consulting said: “Since launching The PA Foundation, we have identified charity partners and non-profits that align with the mission of The Foundation and with PA’s purpose – to build a positive human future. Our new charity partners are at the forefront of developing the workforce of the future by promoting equitable education and employment outcomes for all.”
Emily Evans, CEO and Founder, The Economist Educational Foundation said: “We are excited to be working with The PA Foundation to enable young people to develop essential skills through inspiring discussions about STEM issues in the news. We have deep expertise helping young people to understand our changing world. By combining this with PA’s unique STEM, strategy and innovation expertise, we will support students to ask big questions about STEM topics shaping their future.”
Philip Colligan, CEO, Raspberry Pi Foundation said: “The Raspberry Pi Foundation's mission is to enable young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing and digital technologies. Our vision is that every young person - whatever their background - develops the skills, knowledge, and confidence to use digital technologies effectively for work and in their personal lives. We know that vision is shared by The PA Foundation, and we're excited to be working together to expand opportunities for young people who experience educational disadvantage in the UK and USA."
Tunde Banjoko OBE, Founder and CEO, Making The Leap said: “We are delighted to be supported by The PA Foundation, with this grant to support young people to develop the essential skills they need to succeed in education and the world of work. Making The Leap shares The PA Foundation’s focus on developing and inspiring young people, and we look forward to working together to transform the lives of the young people.”
PA will support The PA Foundation’s new charity partners over the next 12 months, lending their skills and experience. PA’s giving back and volunteer week, which launches today, will be an opportunity for PA people to start developing relationships and planning collaborations with The PA Foundation’s charity partners. By the end of 2022, PA aims to have contributed over 10,000 volunteer hours by its people globally.
