Women in Tech Coding Courses
Autumn 2024
Women in Tech are proud to run our Intro to Web Development, Programming with Python, and Python for Data Science virtual classes again, starting this October. The courses will run for 8 weeks in the evenings and are free of charge - starting Tuesday 8 October and ending Tuesday 3 December.
Applications close on Thursday 26th September at midnight. You will be notified by 2nd October to inform you if your application has been successful. Classes will start on 8th October. Please feel free to share the application link with your friends, family and network.
Please be aware that these sessions are held in GMT (UK) time zone.
1. Introduction to Web Development
An introduction to web development covering UX, HTML, and CSS taught virtually by industry experts, where participants develop their own website.
Audience: Open to all women and non-binary people aged 18+ with little to no coding experience
When: 17:30 – 19:30 (UK time) on Tuesdays, 8th October to Tuesday 3rd December
Where: Classes will be held virtually using a range of collaboration tools such as Slack.
Introduction to Programming with Python
An opportunity to learn the basics of programming in Python, covering data types, variables, conditional logic, data structures and files. There is weekly homework and the course ends with participants developing a final project.
Audience: Open to all women and non-binary people aged 18+ with little to no coding experience
When: 17:30 – 19:30 (UK time) on Tuesdays, 8th October to Tuesday 3rd December
Where: Classes will be held virtually using a range of collaboration tools such as Slack.
Python for Data Science
This course will introduce students to the basics of data science using Python, including data exploration, visualisation, pre-processing, supervised, and unsupervised learning. It is perfect for students wanting to explore an interest in data science. Previous Python experience is a pre-requisite for this course.
Audience: Open to all women and non-binary people aged 18+ with basic or previous python experience. This is ideal for individuals who have completed our ‘Introduction to Programming with Python’ course previously.
